Chapter 5
The flight was smooth and easy the whole way. Chelsea was amazing! I didn't know why but there was something about her that was so different. She was cute, smart, funny, nice... taken. I would sometimes get to thinkin that maybe she kinda liked me, and then I thought of Joe and the last thing he said to me, "Take care ofher for me, please?"
I was pretty sure he wanted me to watch after her, not take her from him. I would sit back and frown everytime Chelsea and I got deep into conversation and she would look at me, "Is something wrong?"
I sat back up and smiled, "No... I just don't... I hate flying."
Chelsea smiled, "It's okay, I'm not too fond of it either."
I smiled, "So, how long have you and Joe been dating?"
Chelsea frowned at the mention of Joe, "Oh... uh.... almost a year. Yeah it'll be a year next month actually."
"Oh well happy early anniversary."
Chelsea smiled a little and shrugged, "Thanks... I guess."
I looked at her, "What? Having second thoughts about him or something? Not happy any more?"
Chelsea smiled, "I don't know. One day we're hot for each other and the next... everything's changed. I can't explain it but it's just... different now. I'm kind of afriad that going to Paris without him is going to make me not want him any more, or him not want me. I really do like him, but every relationship losing it's flame, right?"
I frowned, "I can't really answer that. I actually just broke up with my girlfriend a couple days ago. We had been dating since my senior year of high school and I realized something."
"What's that?"
"Sometimes you don't know what to expect. I mean, me and Stacy for example, she only claimed to love me because I was big and famous at the time. She broke it off when my carreer started going down hill and then I saw that in a relationship you really have to know the person before you jump right into it. I just... didn't know Stacy."
Chelsea nodded her head and looked down at her fingers, "Sometimes that's how I feel about Joe."
"Well", I said as I leaned back in my seat, "maybe you should talk to him more. The key to a good relationship is communication."
Chelsea laughed, "You sound like Dr. Phil."
I opened one eye and smiled, "And how do you feel about that?"
Chelsea giggled and looked down at her hands. There was an awkward silence over us for a second and Chelsea suddenly busted out laughing. I looked at her, "What?"
"Every awkward silence, a gay baby is born", she busted out laughing like it was the most hilarious joke ever. I chuckled, "Lets call him Steve."
Chelsea looked at me, "Why?"
"Cause it's pretty" ,I said with a smile. Chelsea laughed again, "Over the Hedge, I love that movie."
"Would any of you care for some drinks?" the flight attendant asked as she wheeled her cart by. I sat up and put on a puppy dog pout, "I'd like a cookie."
Chelsea busted out laughing and the flight attendant rolled her eyes and moved on. Chelsea looked at me, "You are so funny."
I smiled, "I try."
Just then the speakers beeped, "Ladies and gentlemen please fasten your seatbelts as the sign is displayed. We are now landing in Paris, France."
